What you see -
Reliance Trends in Begumpet, Hyderabad is a huge, two-storey store, home to a wide variety of regular wear for all. What makes shopping here convenient is the classified display of garments arranged as per price range mentioned on big placards.
What you get -
As you enter Reliance Trends
, a section of vibrant ethnic wear catches your attention. W, Fashion Tadka and Sparsh are just some of the brands that one sees in the Indian wear section. Kurtis (Rs. 399 onwards) with interesting necklines, mostly in full sleeves are quite impressive. The range of silk kurtis
(Rs. 1,000 onwards) is particularly very attractive. Starting at a modest Rs. 599, full suits are good value for money. If you are looking for custom fit salwar suits, you could buy dress material (Sparh and Prafful) with beautifully stitched silk and tussar patches. Mix-n-match sets of churidar and dupatta come for Rs. 499. The range of sarees (cotton, chiffon, georgette and silk blend), starting Rs. 499 is extensive and quite different from the regular South Indian fare.
The range of bags and belts at Reliance Trends in Hyderabad doesn’t really appeal because of the low quality stitching. Wallets
though are decent. The footwear section comprises a decent selection of sports shoes, casual and formal shoes. If you’re lucky you may find some really cheap options. The western wear section has branded clothes from leading lines like AND, 109°F, Miss Players, Remanika and Urban Yoga. Worth buying are the quarter length tunics, cowl neck tops and bolero jackets
. The rest of the ground floor is divided between lingerie
(Hushh), nightwear (Sleep-ins), a cosmetics section (Ponds, Lakme, Revlon and Color Bar), costume jewelry counter and kids’ wear. The kid’s wear section displays regular and party wear garments from leading brands like Lilliput, Gini n Jony, Catmoss and many more. Frilly frocks, kurta- pyjama sets and printed denim skirts are particularly cute and quite inexpensive.
The first floor displays men’s wear and luggage items. The former stocks formal wear from brands like Oxemberg, Status Quo, Bossini, Allen Solly and Peter England. The section of slim fit, party shirts (Rs. 499 to Rs. 699) is definitely worth a dekko. Sports wear range from Team Spirit, a Reliance brand, is very economical. The monotone and stripes dominated T-shirt section sadly disappoints. The luggage section boasting of popular brands including VIP, American Tourister and Delsey is quite well-stocked.
Our verdict -
Reliance Trends is a mid-segment store in Hyderabad which is dominated by regular wear garments. The absence of smart casuals and party wear lets you down though. In terms of pricing, every purchase here is value for money, but the store lacks the essential youthful zing. Some shop assistants don’t understand English, which at times complicates the shopping experience. Trial rooms are available on both floors. Basement parking space is an advantage.
